Biography
Dr. Melanie Ní Dhuinn is Dean of the School of Education in Hibernia College. Prior to this she worked as an Associate Professor/Senior Lecturer in Education in Marino Institute of Education, as Assistant Professor of Teacher Education in Trinity College Dublin and as Programme Director of the PDE in Hibernia College. Melanie has worked across primary and post-primary teacher education programmes, taught modules in Sociology of Education and Research Methods and is a doctoral supervisor in the School of Education in Trinity College. A former post-primary teacher of Physical Education and Gaeilge, she was a member of the Teaching Council (2018–2022) and a member of national research and professional forums. She has designed and coordinated a number of initial teacher education programmes at primary and post-primary level through the medium of the Irish and English language. She acts as a programme accreditation panel member for QQI.

Institutional profile
As Dean of Education Melanie has overall responsibility for the development and implementation of the School of Education’s academic strategy. The Dean of the School of Education supports the effective academic governance of the School to ensure compliance with legal and statutory requirements in respect of the provision of programmes and services to students. As a member of the Academic Leadership Team, Melanie works with all departmental heads in the promotion of the quality of developed programmes and assuring and maintaining standards in College services to students.
