Abstract
The presentation was delivered at the Library Association of Ireland HSLG Conference, held at the Aisling Hotel in Dublin on Thursday, March 6th, 2025. Posters are a creative and impactful assessment method in undergraduate nursing programmes, providing meaningful benefits to both students and instructors while moving beyond traditional approaches (Conyers, 2003). Furthermore, academic posters present evidence in a visually engaging manner, enhancing clinical knowledge and supporting evidence-based practice by helping nurses integrate their learning into patient care (Glass, Tan, and Chan, 2021). From the inception of Hibernia College’s undergraduate nursing programme in 2022, nursing faculty have incorporated academic posters as a core assessment strategy. To ensure effective implementation, the nursing faculty collaborated with the Digital Learning Department (DLD). They aimed to involve the digital librarian and DLD researcher to offer guidance and support to their students, as they could leverage their expertise in designing posters for conference presentations. While this was a novel request, it offered the potential for cross-functional and departmental collaboration, coupled with the chance to provide student support, and therefore posed an intriguing challenge. Through the development of an instructional workshop and additional support materials, the librarian and researcher aimed to equip students with the skills and confidence needed to create compelling academic posters. This presentation will explore the inception, development and outcomes of this collaboration. References Conyers, V.
