Person Nunan, PatriciaPatricia Nunan is the Programme Director of the Professional Master of Education (PME) in Post Primary Education. Since joining Hibernia College in 2020, Patricia has worked as the School Placement Lead on the PME Post Primary programme. Her background is as a Post Primary teacher of Mathematics and French. While on secondment to the Professional Development Service for Teachers (PDST), she worked across many areas including Leaving Certificate Applied (LCA), Numeracy and Modern Foreign Languages (MFL). During this time, she led the design of teacher Continuing Professional Development (CPD) for the newly revised curriculum in Mathematical Applications. Patricia holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Higher Diploma in Education in Mathematics and French. She previously completed two postgraduate programmes in Maynooth University, namely the Higher Diploma in Educational Management and Administration (2003) and the Postgraduate Diploma in Educational Leadership (2009). She graduated from Waterford Institute of Technology in 2019 with a Master of Arts Management in Education (MAME). Patricia’s research interests include initial teacher education and the role both mentoring and reflective practice play within. In her doctoral studies, Patricia is exploring the potential of a dialogic, reciprocal relationship between Pre-Service Teacher (PST) and Cooperating Teacher (CT) in the Mathematics classroom. The study seeks to explore the potential of a more collaborative, structured model of support to enable both teachers develop their pedagogical content knowledge in Mathematics.Person Byrne, AnnAnn has over 20 years’ experience working in academic libraries and previously held positions in TU Dublin, UCD and IICP. Ann has particular interest and expertise in digital libraries, information literacy, open access, and academic writing and referencing. Ann is an active member of the HECA Library Group and conference committee. She holds a primary degree and two post-graduate degrees from UCD, including her library and information studies qualification. Ann is also an accredited psychotherapist.Person Davey, EmberlyWith more than 15 years of experience in the library industry, Emberly began her career in public libraries in the United States before accepting a position as a Digital Library Assistant at Hibernia College in Dublin. As a recent graduate of the MLIS from UCD, and with a passion for teaching and education, Emberly believes that all libraries are a haven for lifelong learning. In alignment with this overarching motif, Emberly strives to advocate for and integrate essential and complementary topics, including Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and Open Access.Person O'Dowd, IreneIrene O’Dowd is a Researcher in Digital Learning at Hibernia College. She is responsible for coordinating research activity in the College's Digital Learning Department, where she formerly held the role of Learning Designer. Irene has over 20 years’ experience in digital learning in commercial and academic sectors, and has Masters degrees in education and international relations.
